Thank you for making Boston Pride a huge success!

Boston Pride is over and the sunshine is still with us! We at GMDVP enjoyed celebrating with all of you this weekend. Our Pride in review:

On Friday evening we gathered at the Boston Common for the Dyke March. Staff tabled and handed out GMDVP hotline cards, consent is sexy! stickers, and our signature relationship fortune tellers. We then joined hundreds of others for the march, which looped down to Copley before heading back to the Common. Thanks to everyone who stopped by our table to chat and get to know us!

GMDVP marches in the 2012 Boston Pride Parade

Saturday was the big event: Boston Pride Parade! On Saturday morning 80 GMDVP supporters gathered at Brownstone in Back Bay for our annual Pride Brunch. We enjoyed show tunes, a scrumptious breakfast and Brownstone’s signature mimosas while celebrating our successes and saying thank you to our long-term and new supporters. If you couldn’t make it don’t worry, we’ll plan to see you there next year!

After Pride Brunch the GMDVP team took to the streets for the parade. Our contingent was 35 strong and very enthusiastic! As the parade snaked it’s way from Copley to Government Center, we handed out palm cards and waved at the crowd.

Finally, the team gathered at Government Center to hand out over 500 GMDVP t-shirts. All were hastily grabbed up by our fellow Pride-goers, and we look forward to seeing GMDVP t-shirts all over the city this summer!

Thank you to all of our volunteers and community sponsors. You really made Boston Pride 2012 come together next year! We invite everyone to join us next year- for brunch, tabling, and marching in Boston’s Dyke March and Pride parade.
