Outreach/Education Manager
Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Outreach/Education Manager coordinates outreach, community engagement, and education campaigns in both the GLBTQ community and mainstream society.
Major Responsibilities
Outreach
–Prepare and implement community engagement plan.
–Conduct presentations, community outreach, bar outreach, Pride event outreach, and literature distribution.
–Coordinate implementation and analysis of Pride surveys.
Content Development
–Coordinate content of website’s education pages.
–Develop and produce service advertising materials and newsletter.
–Develop education curricula.
–Conduct, compile, and review relevant research.
Community Relations
–Extensive networking at GLBTQ events.
–Attend meetings with other community domestic violence organizations and GLBTQ organizations.
–Manage press activity, including maintaining press contact database, producing & distributing press releases, and archiving press articles.
Administrative Duties
–Provide general assistance to the Executive Director, including, filing, and records maintenance.
–Manage education volunteers.
–Provide emergency back up hotline coverage.
–Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Excellent written, communication, and organizational skills required. Knowledge of GLBTQ issues and sensitivity to diversity issues required. Must possess willingness/ability to travel throughout the state. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred. Bachelor’s Degree or relevant professional/life experience preferred. Knowledge of Domestic Violence or relevant work experience preferred.
